Activity Check: September 2015
This is the activity check post for September, 2015. You have until 11:59 PM, PST, October 7th to submit your activity for each of your characters. If you don't get it in, your characters will be removed from the game, and you'll have to apply for them again! Read on for details.
Raise the Earth's activity requirement for each month is a total of ten comments (or more) from your character made in that month, spread across at least two threads that have more than one comment in each. All of the threads you submit need to be with different characters, and you can’t submit the same thread more than once, even if there are new comments in it since the last time. Threads need to come from
raisetheearth to apply - they don't count if they're in any other community, unless we’ve told you otherwise. If your character has an IC inbox, or has comments in another character's inbox, you can use up to one thread across all characters' inboxes this month, as long as it meets all the other rules.
If you have threads that meet the requirements, great! Copy the forms below and fill them out: the player section once, and the character section once for each character you're playing. Please put all your characters in one comment, so we can find them more easily. Once you've turned in your activity, sit tight - one of the mods will pop into your links, check your math, and get back to you. Once you get a reply from us that everything's in order, you pass for the month. If something doesn't check out, we'll let you know; usually, either a link is wrong, or your links didn't quite hit ten comments. Reply to our note with the new information, and we'll get you sorted out.
If you took a hiatus this month that lasted at least seven days, you can skip this month's activity check. Submit the forms as normal, but where your threads go, just leave us a note that you were on hiatus this month. If you use a hiatus to clear an activity check, you have to provide activity the next month - you can't hiatus again, unless you've got a special circumstance. Talk to us if something urgent comes up; allowances can be made. You have to actually comment on the hiatus post for it to count for AC - Plurk messages and posts in the OOC community are nice, but they're not official.
If you were on hiatus but you have activity anyway, you should submit it - try not to depend on a hiatus too often. If you seem to hiatus a lot at the end of activity periods, we'll notice, so don't abuse the system. If you used a hiatus last month and can't come up with activity this month, you're going to have to take a strike - see below. The month after you take a strike, you can use a hiatus again.
If you don't have enough activity, or you can't give us something we ask for, you can take a strike for the character(s) that didn't have enough. Taking a strike means that you're going to skip this month's activity check, and in exchange, you agree to present normal activity when the activity check comes around next month. To ask for a strike, replace the thread links with a note that you're taking a strike. If you can't come up with activity and you already have a strike, you'll have to drop that character. If you pass the next activity check with the character that took a strike, then the strike clears from that character, and you have the option to take a strike again if you need to.
If a character fails activity or drops while they had a strike, you have to wait one month from when that character got their strike before you can reserve or apply for them again; if the activity check they failed is still in progress, you’ll need to wait until that ends. If nobody else has put in an application when the strike clears, you can apply again to pick them back up. The rules for re-applying for a dropped character apply, which means you need to add a little bit to the character's application first. We’ll judge re-applications for characters dropped by activity a little more harshly; it’ll be harder to get back in each time you lose a character to the activity check.
The following groups of characters don't need to submit activity this month, and will submit something else instead:

The following groups of characters don't need to submit activity this month, and will submit something else instead:
- New characters - if you joined on or after the 15th of the month, you don't have to submit activity this month. Instead, your job is to make sure your information and lists are all ready to go! You still need to provide everything else, which is mainly your info post and HMD. Also, be sure you've commented to the taken page. If you aren't on a list, you'll be asked to do so when we check your activity, so try to stay on top of those.
- Characters on hiatus the whole month - if you were gone from the first of the month to the end, it's okay if you don't comment at all. We'd appreciate if you did, but if we don't see you, we'll check the lists before we start sweeping journals.
These are the characters that have a strike this month, and must provide activity (or a valid hiatus) to stay in the game:
- There are no characters with strikes at present.
These are the characters we found a valid hiatus that applies this month for; if you have activity, feel free to post it, but if you're on this list, you only need to check in for the month:
